CamCCUL and Affiliates celebrates the 139th Edition of the International Labour Day with Pomp. By KAH Calister .T.

The Cameroon Cooperative Credit Union League, CamCCUL and affiliates joined the International Community on May 1st 2025 in celebrating the 139th International Labour Day with pomp and pageantry. The celebration in Kumba , Chief town of Meme Division which  brought together establishments, Institutions and enterprises took place under the auspices of the Senior Divisional Officer for Meme, Mr. Ntou’ou Ndong Chamberlin . Amid at celebrating the contributions of workers across the globe, the Cameroon Cooperative Credit Union League, CamCCUL with Affiliates in some Areas like, Kumba, Buea, Bafoussam, Yaounde and Ngoundere all turned out massively  where they took part in the match pass. The colourful traditional match pass in all these areas had CamCCUL workers all dressed proudly in the colours of CamCCUL. Holding under the theme” Social Dialogue, descent work for a peaceful Cameroon, close to  10 CamCCUL Staff  were recognized by the state for their hard work with medals ranging from Gold to Silver and Silver gild . After show casing the strength of the Network during the match pass led by the CamCCUL Staff in some areas, the next item on the day’s agenda were family meals.

Mbouda Centre Credit Union poised to begin the Transfragri Project as they receive project equipment from CamCCUL Credit Union Managers and Focal Point of pilot Credit Unions receiving training of the Digital farmers platform Title: Three selected pilot Credit Unions in the CamCCUL Network,Alou, M’mouck and Mbouda Centre received Equipment to facilitate the implementation of the Transfragri Project   Equipment comprising of laptops and accessories, motorcycles, Surge protector distributors, smart phones, Standby generators, wireless microphone and  blue tooth speaker have been donated to Alou, M’mouck and Mbouda Centre Cooperative Credit Unions to facilitate the implementation of the Transfragri Project. Donated by their Apex Organization the Cameroon Cooperative Credit Union League, CamCCUL, these three Credit Unions shortlisted as pilot Credit Unions of Project received these tools on 22nd and 23rd of April 2025 respectively in their premises in Bamenda( North West Region) and in Mbouda( West Region). Present to receive the equipment were the Board members and Management of these Credit Unions. Welcoming the delegation from CamCCUL, the Board presidents and Vice of the three Credit Unions, Mr. Ateafac Benley of AlouCCUL, Mr. Mofor Gilbert of M’mouckCCUL and Mr. Johnson Moko – Vice President of MCCCU thanked the Project, CamCCUL and the Cameroon Government for this laudable initiative which they said  is a dream which has finally come to fruition. The Board Presidents of Alou and M’mouck particularly disclosed that their farmers back at their Union’s Headquarters in Atualah and Mbeleka villages in the Lebialem Division in the South West Region who attended the impressive sensitization meetings months ago have been anxiously waiting for the project to materialize. They thanked all the actors responsible indicating their readiness to swing into action. While expressing their gratitude for the equipment which according to them is coming in to ameliorate and titivate a new marketing strategy of  farmers in their Credit Unions through a digital platform that will henceforth assist farmers market their produce directly to a wider market and also link farmers to other Agribusiness Value chain actors, the Board Presidents added that this android way of agriculture will not only improve on the Standard of living of their farmers, it will also enable them to contract and repay their Loans effortlessly. Mounting the rostrum, the Assistant General Manager of CamCCUL, Mr AWAH Richard Ndoh in a brief speech before presenting the tools to the pilot Credit Unions hailed them for their resoluteness in carrying out their activities in the Credit Union. He reminded them that the equipment is coming as a drive to enable them carry out the project effectively reason why they should safeguard them jealously.   Mr Konang Godwill, Head of Lending in CamCCUL dwelling on the reality of the Project on field said the turnout of members during the sensitization meetings months ago were indications of their willingness to embrace this new project which has finally come as a welcome relief to alleviate poverty and make farmers to enjoy the fruit of their labour. He then called on all present to be primary consumers of the project before disseminating it to members of the general public. The Coordinator of the Agric Business Unit in CamCCUL Mr. Afon Ferdinand after painting a picture of the project once again to the Board and Management present said there is software called Cagrib.com which is a display place that has been created to conveniently exhibit farmers produce and also link digitally the main actors in the agricultural value chain. The platform he said is user friendly and can be accessible by the various value chain actors and the general public through their mobile phones at any given time and place.   A 3 day seminar to actually build the capacities of Managers and Focal points of these Credit Unions on how to utilize the CamCCUL Agric Business forum for the Transfragri Project on this Digital Contractual Agriculture took place from 24th to the 26th April 2025 at the Women’s Empowerment Center in Mbouda, West Region of Cameroon. Opening the three day intensive training, Mr Awah Richard Ndoh, Assistant General Manager of the Cameroon Cooperative Credit Union League, CamCCUL, entreated participants to be open and tap from the well of Knowledge that CamCCUL, their Apex Organ and the software developer brought to them. Given the numerous challenges faced by farmers in enjoying the fruit of their labour nowadays, this project he added will henceforth provide a lasting solution that will enable farmers benefit from digitalization. Mr Lenjo Valery, Digital consultant and Developer of the Transfergri Platform explained that the platform is user friendly and will enable farmers deal directly with buyers without passing through middlemen. Participants who took part in the three days in-depth training testified that they are indeed going back equipped and poised to multiply what they gathered during their 3 days stay in Mbouda As the project fully kicks-off with farmers going digital in marketing their produce using this platform, income from their sales is also expected to improve their standard of Living and also enable them repay their loans as confirmed by Mr Awah Ferdinand, Coordinator of the Agribusiness Unit of CamCCUL. The Project titled “Building of CamCCUL Network Agribusiness Forum” is a platform for the marketing of farmers and Agribusiness produce for the CamCCUL Network in collaboration with the Transfragri Project. The program is created by the Cameroon Government, Funded by the French Development Agency and placed under the Management Unit of the Support Program to the National Strategy for Inclusive Finance (SP-NSIF) and managed by the Ministry of Finance. CamCCUL Achève avec Succès la deuxième phase de Paiement des TMO Cycle 7 du Projet Filets Sociaux

Equipe CamCCUL en pleine action dans la région de l’Est précisément à Mbang Satisfaction d’une bénéficiaire après avoir reçu sa subvention Sensibilisation des ménages avant le début des distributions Equipe CamCCUL sur la route Paiement TMO à Nguelebok Paiement TMO à Nguelebok CamCCUL Achève avec Succès la deuxième phase de Paiement des TMO Cycle 7 du Projet Filets Sociaux  La Ligue des Caisses Populaires Coopératives du Cameroun (CamCCUL) EMF Cat I COOP – CA vient de clôturer avec succès les paiements numéro 2 des Transferts Monétaires Ordinaires (TMO) du Cycle 7 du Projet Filets Sociaux Adaptatifs et d’Inclusion Économique. Cette opération s’est déroulée dans la région de l’Adamaoua et certaines communes de l’Est du Cameroun, du 25 au 31 mars 2025. En voiture ou en moto et parfois même dans les pirogues, Cette mission a été marquée par un engagement sans faille des équipes de CamCCUL, qui parcourant l’arrière-pays des régions du Cameroun, ont surmonté divers obstacles   afin de donner satisfaction, aux populations dans l’attente de ce soutien vital de la banque Mondiale en partenariat avec le gouvernement Camerounais. Grâce à une collaboration efficace entre les différents acteurs locaux (chefs de villages, Maires, sous-préfet et forces de l’ordre), les opérateurs de terrain des projets sociaux (des jeunes dynamiques recrutés par le projet pour servir de relais dans la transmission d’informations entre les communautés et les responsables du projet) et les équipes de CamCCUL, cette opération a pu se dérouler dans les meilleures conditions possibles. La réussite de cette mission témoigne non seulement de l’efficacité de CamCCUL à tenir ses engagements, mais aussi de son dévouement à améliorer les conditions de vie des populations vulnérables. Les bénéficiaires expriment leur gratitude pour cette subvention qui leur permettra d’améliorer leur situation économique et sociale. Au terme de cette opération, 7 000 ménages ont bénéficié de cette subvention, dont 3 000 dans diverses communes de la région de l’Adamaoua et 4 000 dans la région de l’Est. En parallèle, 119 relais communautaires (des jeunes recrutés dans les villages pour faciliter la collaboration entre les ménages et les opérateurs de terrain) ont également reçu leur paiement, répartis comme suit : 51 dans des communes de l’Adamaoua et 68 dans celles de l’Est. Les communes concernées par cette initiative incluent Galim-Tignère, Kontha et Mayo Darle dans la région de l’Adamaoua, ainsi que Massamena, Nguelemedouka, Mbang et Nguelebok dans la région de l’Est. CamCCUL reste déterminée à poursuivre ses efforts en faveur de l’inclusion économique et sociale des couches vulnérables en partenariat avec ses multiples partenaires tel que le Filet Sociaux Adaptatifs et d’Inclusion Economique (PSF- AIE). Cette initiative s’inscrit dans une démarche plus large visant à renforcer la solidarité et le bien-être des populations camerounaises. The 40th edition of the 2025 International Women’s Day “Yaounde”

CAMCCUL NETWORK AT THE HEART OF WOMEN EMPOWERMENT In prelude to International Women’s Day, commemorated in Cameroon and the world at large every March 8th, The Cameroon Cooperative Credit Union League ( CamCCUL) MFI. COOP BoD organized a round table conference on March 7th  at the Bali Cooperative Credit Union hall in Yaounde to mark this day, bringing together women belonging to different credit unions and gender expert to dwell on the strength and opportunities women possess by sharing successful stories of women who have conquered the status quo and are changing the narrative by leveraging on the opportunities presented them. Ruth ENJEH Focusing on the theme CamCCUL network; empowering women strengthening communities: together we strive, inspired by the 40th edition International Women’s Day theme “ for all women and girls: rights, equality, and empowerment. The women were encouraged to be ambassadors in their different credit unions by Save Regularly, Borrow wisely and Repay Promtly. As the conference unfolded, it spotlighted the success of women who are thriving thanks to credit unions “I am a proud product of a credit union, today I boast of living in my own house thanks to my regular savings”, says  FORKA Florence TAZIFOR teacher and member of the Menji Cooperative credit union. A look back into the history and evolution of the woman’s place in the union, recounted by one of its pillars and the first female gender officer of CamCCUL today is the coordinator of credit unions of Yaounde, South and East regions. Grace TAMFUCoordinator of Credit Unions, CamCCUL Yaounde During discussions, women were reminded of how vital they are to the growth of the economy. “ To play their role with no bias, they need a winning mindset”, added Carine NGUM whose story is one to emulate as it constitutes hard work, determination and a positive mind-set. Today Carine, whose journey began from the bottom, is cured the Deputy General Manager and Branch Manager of Akum Zone Credit Union among other activities which she does to continuously empower and improve herself. The 40th edition of the 2025 International Women’s Day has been celebrated across some Chapters that constitute the CamCCUL Network. Activities to mark this day included live Radio discussions, sports and relay walk etc took place on March 7th March 2025 Bafoussam and Yaounde. The Cameroon Cooperative Credit Union League- CamCCUL EMF COOP -CA made this year’s celebration a special one amongst other things to increase Female membership in the Credit Unions.  These women were all rallied by CamCCUL under the theme” CamCCUL Network Empowering Women, Strengthening communities: Together we strive, an inspiration from the global theme.   The CamCCUL Bafoussam Chapter ladies accompanied by BaPCCUL Tyo- ville headed by the zona Coordinator celebrated the day by actively taking part in a spots and relay walk  round the city under the distinguish patronage  of the first lady of the Region

The 40th edition of the 2025 International Women’s Day Fako Chapter

The 40th edition of the 2025 International Women’s Day has been celebrated across some Chapters that constitute the CamCCUL Network. Activities to mark this day included round table conferences, live Radio discussions, sports and relay walk etc took place on March 7th March 2025 in Fako, Bafoussam, Douala and Yaounde. The Cameroon Cooperative Credit Union League- CamCCUL EMF COOP -CA made this year’s celebration a special one amongst other things to increase Female membership in the Credit Unions.  These women were all rallied by CamCCUL under the theme” CamCCUL Network Empowering Women, Strengthening communities: Together we strive, an inspiration from the global theme.   Over in Fako, 10 women from 5 Credit Unions ( Tole Tea, Buea Police, Ndungated, Mutengene Savings and Loans and Buea P& T)  took part in a Live Round table discussion on Dream FM Buea , FM 86.9 MHz.  Together with some CamCCUL Ladies, these enthusiastic women shared their success stories since they joined their various Credit Unions.  The program was a veritable opportunity for the guests to encourage their counterparts to shun fear, brave the odds and open accounts in Credit Unions under the CamCCUL Network so as to better their lives and that of their family members in the future. The guests on the program also dished out their unique products and services to members of the general public so as to orientate prospective members. Underscoring the importance of Credit Unions to the members of the general public in general and women in particular, the Resource persons on the program reminded the women that they are very good managers and occupy very important positions in the society reason why they should put fear and all its ramifications aside this 2025 and empower themselves and their family members through accounts creation in Credit Unions in the CamCCUL Network. They also challenged their fellow women not to be afraid of loans, testifying that some of them, own big houses , other landed properties, run and  own lucrative businesses thanks to loans they contracted from their Credit Unions at very love interest rate. During the program, the Chief of the Internal Protection Scheme (IPS) Madam Hepsiba Mukeba underscored the readiness of CamCCUL in empowering women and strengthening communities this year 2025. Before the end of the program, listeners especially women were enjoined to offer themselves women’s day gifts, by creating accounts for themselves and their relatives in any Credit Union under the CamCCUL Network of their choice. The women were also determined to impact the lives of more women this 2025 more than ever before through educational meetings, conferences and so on. They also hailed CamCCUL their Apex organization for the laudable initiative to commemorate the annual event with the women of the Network while looking forward to more opportunities that will continue to shape the lives of other women. The women also went home with some souvenirs from CamCCUL ranging from pens, t-shirts etc. It is worthy of note that CamCCUL, guru in Micro Finance activities in the CEMAC is not only committed in empowering women and strengthening communities, CamCCUL has also been at the heart of poverty alleviation in Cameroon since 1968

CamCULL EMF COOP- CA célèbre les femme autour d’une table à Douala

CamCULL EMF COOP- CA célèbre les femme autour d’une table à Douala les femmes du secteur financier, en particulier celles des coopératives de crédit de Douala, se sont réunies autour du thème : “Autonomisation des femmes et renforcement des communautés : un chemin vers la prospérité collective”. Cette rencontre, organisée ce 7 mars dans la salle de MUPECI était une initiative de la Ligue des Coopératives de Crédit du Cameroun (CamCCUL) EMF Coop- CA, pour marquer la 40ème édition de cette célébration, et visait à renforcer l’engagement des femmes dans le mouvement d’épargne et de crédit. Plusieurs sous-thèmes ont été abordés au cours de cette rencontre notamment, l’autonomisation économique des femmes dans le secteur financier, le leadership féminin en vue d’une représentation équitable dans les instances décisionnelles, ainsi que l’éducation financière et l’accès aux ressources pour les femmes. Ces thématiques ont suscités un vif intérêt parmi les participantes, qui ont afflué en grand nombre depuis les différentes coopératives de crédit de la capitale économique. Un panel d’expertes a animé les discussions, composé de Dame Kemoe Irène, chef d’agence chez Mupeci, Dame Nji Colette, directrice adjointe chez Nkenccul, et Dame Praxedes Banseka, directrice du Centre d’Éducation et de Formation chez CamCCUL. Les participantes ont eu l’opportunité d’apprendre des techniques de gestion financière, de management des comptes, ainsi que des principes fondamentaux de l’éducation au crédit bancaire. Les échanges ont également permis aux femmes présentes de dénoncer les obstacles qui freinent leur évolution dans la société et plus particulièrement dans le secteur financier. Les intervenantes ont souligné l’importance cruciale pour les femmes de se former, d’adopter une mentalité collaborative et de fournir une éducation équitable à leurs enfants pour garantir des opportunités égales. Elles ont également encouragé leurs consœurs à dépasser la paresse et à s’engager activement dans leur développement professionnel afin d’atteindre l’égalité avec leurs homologues masculins. À l’issue de cette enrichissante journée à MUPECI, les participantes se sont déclarées satisfaites et enthousiastes. Elles ont exprimé le souhait que cet événement devienne non seulement un rendez-vous annuel, mais qu’il inspire également la multiplication de rencontres similaires. cette initiative a non seulement renforcé le réseau des femmes dans le secteur financier, mais elle a également ouvert la voie à une prise de conscience collective sur les enjeux liés à l’autonomisation économique et à l’égalité des sexes. Les coopératives de crédit se positionnent ainsi comme des acteurs clés dans la promotion du leadership féminin et du développement communautaire au Cameroun. O.D. NGWETE
